Steve Yanor
Stephen L. Yanor is the firm's global managing partner. Steve has been involved with IPO marketing since the age of twenty-one, when he was shown the ropes on a $90 million deal by a managing director-level investment banker. Subsequent to the transaction closing, Mr. Yanor opened his own firm and would go on to assist scores of issuers to execute IPOs and other transactions throughout the 90s.
Mr. Yanor has worked on over eighty transactions including IPOs, mergers, secondaries (follow-ons), and has introduced some of the world's best-known and most prestigious brands and management teams to domestic and international capital markets. Mr. Yanor has been involved with securities transactions which have raised approximately forty billion dollars in capital.
Mr. Yanor worked on the past two secondaries related to General Electric's sell down in its former subsidiary, Genworth Financial ($5.7 Billion in combined transactions, and the largest corporate monetization in US history), as well as transactions for:
- Vonage Holdings Inc (VG:NYSE $505 million)
- UBS Wealth Management's acquisition of Piper Jaffray ($500 Million)
- DreamWorks Animation SKG (DWA: NYSE $812 million)
- Genworth Financial (GNW: NYSE $2.83 Billion)
- Freescale Semiconductor (FSL: NYSE $1.58 Billion)
- WorldSpace Satellite Radio (WRSP:NSDQ $250 Million)
- Bucyrus International (BUCY: NSDQ $193 Million)
- Canaccord Capital Corporation (CCI: TSX $70 Million)
- InPhonic (INPH: NSDQ $143 Million);
- and the merger between Anthem and Wellpoint ($16.4 Billion)
Until January 1, 2006, Mr. Yanor was a senior managing director and equity partner of The Global Consulting Group's Capital Market Communications unit (GCG Capital Market Communications), where he oversaw their IPO practice until he became the firm's majority shareholder.
Until December 2004, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Imagination (GIC USA) Inc., a global design and communications company with special interests in the roadshow business. Mr. Yanor was instrumental in overseeing the development and growth of the firm's US capital markets activities from May 2002 to the time he quit to form a more strategically experienced alternative to Imagination.
From 1992, Mr. Yanor has held senior positions at specialist investor relations firms where he provided consulting services to emerging public companies on a variety of strategic communications issues. Steve was the Vice President of McInerney & Co. Strategic Investor Relations in Toronto. He is also the former Vice President of Corporate Communications and Marketing for Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., where he oversaw Lions Gate's IPO and the subsequent integration and branding of its six newly-acquired international film-related entertainment businesses.
